University Avenue Construction

November 22, 2019 - The City of Waterloo and the contractor are continuing to work on the reconstruction of the University Avenue Reconstruction Project Phases 1 and 2 from Midway Drive to Evergreen Avenue.

As early as November 25, 2019, University Avenue traffic will return to the eastbound and westbound lanes. University Avenue will no longer have head-to-head traffic in preparation for winter shutdown. University Avenue will have lane closures from west of Midway Drive to Falls Avenue. Beginning November 27, 2019, Midway Drive will open south of University Avenue.

During the winter season, lane closures will be utilized periodically for continued traffic signal and street light installation adjacent to the roadway. Please see the attached traffic map showing the construction zone.

**Construction notices will be discontinued for the winter season and will begin again in the spring.

Please see the maps showing the construction zone highlighted for next week.

For safety purposes, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed lanes. It would be advisable to stay behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.

To request road closure notices by e-mail or to unsubscribe, please e-mail us at: university.avenue@waterloo-ia.org.
